Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

About me

Hi, I'm IntrepidTechie. I'm a technology enthusiast who enjoys educating people about the joys of technology. Growing up, I was the guy who took apart his electronics to figure out how they worked, which often resulted in a scrap mess of electronic parts and a young man too stubborn to admit that he had deliberately broken his perfectly functioning electronic devices.

I graduated in 2015 from Penn State, with a degree in Security and Risk Analysis. Since I now work in the cyber security field as a analyst,  you may see some content on this site with a security focus.

As it stands, I have my GSEC, Security+ and eJPT (Junior Penetration Tester) certifications. I love learning new things and often find myself diving in over my head, thus my handle.

My interests in the field include:

  • Network Security Monitoring
  • Digital Forensics and Incident Response
  • Penetration Testing

If all of that is Greek to you, don't worry. I'll try to keep the technical talk to a minimum. As I get some free time, I may even make some tutorials to help you navigate this increasingly complex and connected world safely and securely. After all, that's what the internet is supposed to be all about, right? The sharing of ideas and knowledge for the betterment of all.

Other passions include:

  • Building/Upgrading my computers
  • Hiking/Camping in the National Parks
  • Learning new things

It would also be a travesty to not mention my favorite type of coffee, since I am fueled by the stuff:

Check out Black Rifle Coffee Company  - They are a veteran owned, U.S. based company who brew absolutely fantastic coffee.
